Surprising Truths About How Children Learn
Learner Outcomes:

  1. As a result of the webinar, the learner will identify 3 interventions that would engage deaf children on each of the five levels of the Experiential Hierarchy. 

  2. As a result of the webinar, the learner will analyze personal attitudes and beliefs related to deaf children, learning, and cochlear implants. 

  3. As a result of the webinar, the learner will identify learning characteristics of deaf children that are seen at each level on the experiential hierarchy.

  4. As a result of the webinar, the learner will list 3 activities that would strengthen a child’s abilities to succeed at an audiologist visit.

Webinar #2: April 11 or April 16
Achieving Powerful Outcomes Using Assessment Data to Individualize Instruction
Learner Outcomes

  1. As a result of case study review presented during the webinar instruction, the learner will modify 2 core curriculum objectives to address a specific learning disability. 

  2. As a result of answering discussion questions, the learner will list 3 strengths related to their personal level of instructional capabilities with children who have hearing loss, special needs, and complex problems.

  3. As a result of the webinar, the learner will examine studies showing results of neuro imaging of typical deaf children and those of deaf children with severe dysfunction. 

  4. As a result of the webinar, the learner will appreciate the value of audiometric review on all children regardless of their disability.

If You Know Your Student You Can Develop Innovative Strategies to Modify the Core Curriculum
Learner Outcomes:

  1. As a result of the webinar, the learner will identify 5 red flags of atypical listening development from a child using cochlear implant assistive technology.

  2. As a result of the webinar, the learner will calculate the listening age of children using cochlear implants and design 2 developmentally appropriate targets for listening and spoken language development.

  3. As a result of the webinar, the learner will synthesize typical speech and language milestones with typical music appreciation milestones of young children.

  4. As a result of the webinar, the learner will list 5 interventions that are linked to the development of working memory in children.

All Senses on Deck: Reality Instruction
Learner Outcomes:

  1. As a result of the webinar, the learner will develop 10 strategies that promote development of executive function domain areas.

  2. As a result of the webinar, the learner will identify 5 behaviors a child might demonstrate if not hearing sounds through the cochlear implant across the frequency range

  3. As a result of the webinar, the learner will develop 2 music interventions to use with young children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
