| Story-N-Sign
Imagine what we can accomplish when we learn to appreciate our differences!
Story-N-Sign Touring Theatre was created in 1995 to bring the magic of signed theatre to the hearing population. A professional troupe of performers who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Hearing perform a collection of short stories, poems and mimes. This program focuses on the unique integration of Sign Language and spoken English. Audience members come away from these performances with an enriched sense of Deaf Culture. We finish with a question/answer period at the end of each performance.

Meets State Learning Standard 27: Understanding the role of the arts in civilizations, past and present
Long before American Sign Language was introduced in the 1800’s, Deaf people had to rely on creating their own Visual communication methods, thereby establishing a unique ability that has been passed on from generation to generation to convey their ideas through their art, body language and facial expression.
