Diagnostics
An outreach program is available through ICODA that provides Psycho-Educational evaluations to school programs, hospitals and private referrals. The team providing these services is highly experienced in the evaluation of children with hearing loss and has a good understanding of the complex learning problems which can complicate the learning process. Evaluations include measures of intelligence and potential learning and processing disabilities, receptive and expressive language, academic screening in reading and math, visual motor function, and social/emotional development. Findings are shared with Parents and School Staff.
The program is headed by Patricia Scherer, Ph.D. Dr. Scherer has over 35 years of experience in evaluating deaf and hard of hearing children adolescents and adults. She led the Diagnostic Clinic in the Deaf program at Northwestern University for 12 years and has worked with public schools for 30 years with an emphasis on the child with learning and behavioral problems.
For further scheduling and cost information please contact Dr. Patricia Scherer p.scherer@icodaarts.org.
