Capital Campaign

ICODA continues to seek funding for a new site that will both facilitate its current programs and allow for significant future expansion. Our Capital Campaign, “Building Dreams, Dreaming Buildings” has been created to pursue this lofty goal. There are so many ways you can help; some are listed below.
We have various Naming Opportunities and Tribute Reservations available for you to participate in, ranging from $100.00—$3.5 Million. The net proceeds will go towards building expenses and ensure that future generations will continue to have the opportunities of experiencing the top-flight programs that have made ICODA famous.
We hope all of our patrons, volunteers, parents, friends, and other supporters will join in this endeavor. Please help us spread the word to anyone you know who would like to be a part of this exciting adventure. This is a great way to leave a lasting tribute to a child, parent, or faculty member you think should be recognized and remembered. You could acknowledge a specific achievement or show your appreciation to any member of the ICODA family. Purchase a brick and engrave your name or favorite CenterLight Theatre Production for everyone to see.
Gather a group of friends and family and name a section of the building. The opportunities are endless…. You can help us realize our dream… One brick at a time!

Can a new building in a prime location bring prestige and benefits to the community in which it is located? We believe that ICODA’s new building can do exactly that for Northbrook, Glenview and the entire surrounding communities. Our belief is based on the following facts:
- ICODA’s building will bring a new level of culture to Glenview & Northbrook. By featuring well-known performers and artists in its leading-edge, fully-accessible TV studio, Performing Arts theater and new Art Gallery, ICODA will display and promote the work of influential artists. Visitors of all ages will experience our Museum on Deafness, thereby identifying the Northbrook Community as a major arts center.
- ICODA’s building will bring a new level of educational prestige to the area. By providing University and College partnerships, ICODA will supply the education and training needs of teachers and other professionals in Deafness. As the North Shore area is noted for its excellence in elementary, middle and high school education, the added presence of a University and College in the ICODA building will not only increase this prestige but also serve on a national level as a constant reminder to the leaders of tomorrow of the value of higher education.
- ICODA’s building will provide a medical treatment and intervention center. This facility will allow individuals to have their hearing tested, be fitted for hearing aids and provide the mapping of the latest technological advancement – the Cochlear Implant which will help it to function at maximum capacity for the user. In addition, a training program for infants to seniors receiving an implant will be provided to teach them how to use this new technology. Supporting us in this endeavor is the audiology program of Children’s Memorial Hospital of Northwestern University and the Chicago Otology Group, also of Northwestern. A neuroscience team will additionally offer the latest technology in brain scans to help children with multiple problems.
- ICODA’s building will bring economic growth to the communities of Glenview & Northbrook. The presence of theater lovers and art patrons will bring business to the area. The University and College will bring students who will eat in the nearby restaurants and shop in the local stores. The same is true of parents of clients who will frequent the diagnostic and treatment clinic. Of most importance is the fact that the presence of a prestigious building known nationally and internationally will increase property values, thereby making the Northbrook/Glenview area a most desirable place to live.
In a very real sense, this building will “belong” to the residents of Glenview and Northbrook and ICODA is eager to share the possibilities with the entire North Shore community.
TOGETHER We Can Empower People Through the Arts!
ICODA’S NEED FOR FUTURE GROWTH:
The need for ICODA to grow and expand its programs is based upon our universal success and our realization that we can help more people if we are able to move to a new modern facility. Our new building will have almost endless possibilities.
The customized studios and professional staff will give increasing numbers of talented children the opportunity to develop their artistic skills in our new Arts Center.
The specially designed classrooms and the newly-formed educational partnerships will provide pre-service, graduate and in-service training for professionals in the field of Deafness in our unique University Teacher Training Center.
We will provide new knowledge about the development of Deaf & Hard of Hearing children thru diagnostics and research and create innovative intervention programs in education, mental health & specialized programs in our Intervention, Diagnostic & Research Center.
The building will permit us to expand our current programs and initiate new ones, thereby giving us the opportunity to reach hundreds of children, irrespective of where they live.
PLAN FOR ADDRESSING THESE NEEDS:
The goal of the Capital Campaign is vast and imposing. Every contribution takes us one step closer to realizing our dreams for the future. When we raise twenty-five million dollars, a proper facility and the grounds for expansion become a very real possibility. We will seek new funding opportunities as well as continue to raise funds through the following methods:
- Individual donations and pledges
- Corporate grants
- Foundation grants
- Federal and State grants
- Small Business and Service Organization donations
